so…the sga officers and a few others students went to Faulkner State Community College this past week. oh, it was such a blast! the ride down there was a bit long…ok, it was VERY long…5 hours! yeah i know…yuck! but it was well worth the trip. we got to stay in the dorms. yeah, that community college has dorms, but it’s only because they are close to the beach so a lot of students go there! like double northeast. any who, i got to room with my bf Rachel! it brought back such memories. you see, her and i went to school together. we’ve known each other since kindergarden! l0l her and i got a little closer thanks to this trip…i think all of us got a little closer! my ph (presidential host) sponsor Andrea went too. total fun! i actually rode with her and two other hosts: Lexie and Jacob. they are so cool and i’m so glad we all got a chance to know each other since we will be seeing a lot of each other. :) especially being hosts and all. ok..so we got down there the night before. then we went and ate at this really cool place called Lamberts. that was the funniest place i’ve ever eaten at! it was crazy in there! everyone is loud and having a good ole time and they even throw rolls at you! yep…such a blast to get the trip started off right! and ater that we went back to the dorms and hung out in thier lobby. it was set up really nice. we even met some new people from Faulkner. they were really nice and cool! the next day we got split up! :( yeah i thought i wasn’t going to make it, but i had a great time! the whole conference was seperated into groups with people from all the different colleges there…needless to say, i met a lot of really cool people from all over the state. we got to learn how to become better leaders for our campus. and then we got to play all sorts of games. that night was the best though. we went to the premiere of “The Batman Returns!” OMG! what a great movie. i’m usually not one for those kinds of movies, but i really enjoyed this on. oh and just let me tell you…IT WAS PACKED! can you say madness! l0l totallly worth to see though…and at midnight. we got lost on the way back! l0l yeah i know…it was a little scary, but hilarious at the same time, because it was like 3 in the morning and we had to be up and ready at 8! yeah, Mrs. Reeves, the sga sponsor and head of the english department, was drinving. i don’t think she thought it was as funny as we did. :) luckily we made it back…at a quarter til 4! l0l it’s all good though. the conference was done at 12 so you know the ride home was quiet! l0l i’m so glad we had a safe trip with a whole lot of fun on the side!

y’all catch me next time! :)

Hey y’all! So my MDA camp was so great! I can’t wait til next year. My camper’s name was Cindy! She was so wonderful and even though she was in a wheel car, she was totally capable of doing a lot of things by herself. The sweetest, more beautiful girl ever! She always had a smile on her face, which in return always made me smile. Everyday I had her sayin “Hey girl hey!”  :) We had such a blast! You know we had a lot of girl talk l0l! Our daily routine was: Flag raising, breakfast, first activity, snack, second activity, lunch, rest time (my favorite l0l), free activity, dinner, then a whole camp thing…like one day it was the pool party, the next day it was the talent show, then the messy olimpics, and the dance was the last night. Yeah I know…we were BUSY! But it was so much fun! She participated in all the activities, passed her swim test (I was so proud of her), and even had a date for the dance by one of the boy campers who had actually had a crush on her for the past 6 years :) . Needless to say… we had to look good! The last morning was so say though :( I hate having to say good-bye because for one week these kids get a chance to feel normal, and you build such a relationship within a short time…it’s hard to let them go…oh, it’s so hard! This was my second year, so I kind of knew what to expect, but the rules changed a little. Last year, the campers could be in their 20s, but now it’s 18, so we lost 24 campers. :( I hate it! We did something special for all the ones who couldn’t be back next year. All the boys got tuxes to wear to the dance and the one girl we had leaving got this special outfit. They all looked so good…it was truly a pricelss moment. And at breakfast on the last day, they showed this dvd of all the campers and counselors and then another dvd of just the ones who had been there that won’t get to come back next year. It was so heartbreaking! I wish them all the best! Cindy said she was going to ask for me next year too so I’m pretty stoked! It will be her last year, so it’s my job to make it one summer she will never forget…I can’t wait!

So the Latino Festival was good! All the little kids were so cute l0l. Me and Miranda were over the Pin the Tail on the Burro. l0l it was so funny to just watch them. Andrea, one of the women who sponsor us presidential hosts painted flowers on my face…I know it sounds so “little kiddish,” but I loved it! :) Y’all should have seen the dancing they did too! It was so cool…I should take lessons or something l0l. We had all sorts of things to do too! Like games and this big blow up obstacle course thing (which looked really cool), crafts, a dunking booth…and FOOD! Tons of food! l0l :) The weather was just right with the breeze…smiles on everyones’ faces…it was a great way to have some fun in the sun!
